Refresher Training Course & Workshop in TB Infection Control
Date : 30th Jan - 3rd Feb 2012 Location : Jakarta, Indonesia The Refresher Training Course and Workshop in TB-IC is part of the project which focuses on continuing to build up the pool of TB-IC consultants through advanced training and mentoring of consultants who have previously participated in other TB-IC trainings and currently do or aspire to provide TB-IC consultancies. Application forms (with motivation and reference letters) must be submitted by 15 December 2011.
World TB Day
Date : 24th March 2012 Location : Worldwide World TB Day is designed to build public awareness that tuberculosis today remains an epidemic in much of the world, causing the deaths of several million people each year, mostly in developing countries. It commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus. At the time of Koch's announcement in Berlin, TB was raging through Europe and the Americas, causing the death of one out of every seven people. Koch's discovery opened the way towards diagnosing and curing TB.

International Laboratory Training Course
Date : 27th - 31st Aug, 2012 Location : Kigali, Rwanda The objective of the training course is to provides updates on lab developments related to Drug Resistant TB as well as new developments in research within PMDT (included laboratory). t the end of the course, participants will be able to conduct appropriate laboratory processes and techniques of growth detection, monitor quality indicators (e.g. internal quality control) and conduct external quality assessment of growth detection and identification.
